On Tuesday, September 29, Hesston USD 460 will begin operating according to the "Green Zone" parameters of the USD 460 Gating Criteria. What does that mean for Hesston Elementary School? Students and staff will continue to wear masks while at the building, taking mask breaks at recess, P.E., and throughout the day. Visitors will continue to be on a limited basis and will be expected to follow all the fundamental safety practices when at the building. To help keep us in the green zone, we ask parents not to join us for lunch or birthday parties in the classroom. This allows us to closely monitor contact tracing with our students. The fundamental safety practices will also continue with good hand hygiene, social distancing, wearing a mask, and staying home when sick. By following these safety measures, we can continue to keep our students healthy and learning at school. Thanks for your support. If you have questions, please contact your child's teacher, the school, or myself at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are changing our Professional Development Day from September 21 to September 28. We will have a regular school attendance day on Monday, September 21, and students will be out of school on Monday, September 28. You can see the updated calendar by clicking https://bit.ly/32iqZOK
Wow! Today was an awesome day at Hesston Elementary! The students did a great job with the many changes. I am so proud of them!! We are so excited to have students back at the building. There are a few reminders that will help our arrival and pick up times be a little more efficient for families. Please drop off students after 7:40 am. Grades 1 and 2 enter at the 1/2 commons door. Kdg, Grade 3 and 4 enter at the front doors. If you have multiple children at different grade levels, drop off and pick up at the door of the youngest child. Encourage your older children to look for younger siblings at the end of the day. Think about establishing a meeting spot for your child at dismissal, such as the swimming pool parking lot, King Park parking lot, the east side of Weaver Street, or the white church on Amos. Please remain in your car while in the pick up lane. We appreciate all your support and continue to ask for patience as we work through the changes in schedules and routines.
